Mobile Camera Casts addresses the challenges of conveying the serenity and attractiveness of rural Scotland using only conventional photographic media. The project employs the use of multiple portable cameras carried by or attached to human or non-human agents that transmit video feed in real-time to remote servers via a 3G wireless network. Video feeds can be accessed via the Internet. Online, the real-time orientation of an agent is visualized on an interactive map, enabling users to locate a shared point of view spatially. Through pixel manipulation algorithms, the system detects action in the broadcasted frames that favor content receiving higher levels of action visually over content with little to no detected action.
